Witches' Cauldron
I purchased a flower planter for the basic cauldron, then built it up on a wooden block for what will become the embers. I arranged plastic water and Gatorade bottles, which will become the logs. I threaded twinkling LED string lights through the bottles.

I added GreatStuff Expanding Foam, leaving gaps between the lines.

I used a hacksaw to trim off the round edges of the foam and give it a more realistic look.

I spray-painted the logs with neon orange, making sure to let some of the paint mist hit the bottom of the cauldron.

I used black, brown and cream acrylic paints to dry-brush the logs, giving them a realistic appearance.

I used GreatStuff Foam again for the brew to look as if it's bubbling over.
I painted the foam with full coat of black acrylic paint.
I applied a fairly heavy coat of mossy green acrylic paint using the dry-bush technique, making sure to leave some of the black undercoat visible in the crevices.
I dry-brushed the final coat using a cream-colored acrylic paint, making sure to leave both the black and green showing through.
